General Meeting

Hawk’s Nest Homeowner’s Association

October 27, 2008

7:30 pm Dublin Justice Center

Board Members Present:  Ali Randall, Emily Preble and Patti Drumm

President’s report included social committee report and the update on the planning of the Holiday Party at the rec center in December.  We also discussed the directory update.  It is still less than 1 year since the last update, so we will likely do the next update after the first of the year so all the new neighbors will be included.

The Vice President’s Report discussed filling vacancies on the board for the 2009 year and the social committee.  We need to keep in mind that there are vacancies and these are all volunteer positions and if we work together, the time commitment is low.  One of the many benefits we enjoy in our neighborhood is low association dues.  Our dues go toward landscaping and ground’s maintenance, mailbox staining, holiday lighting, insurance and many other items.  We are able to do this with low fees because of many volunteers. If we were to hire a management company to run the association, we fear the dues would have to increase to cover the costs.  Please consider volunteering on your homeowner’s association board.

The Treasurer’s report included a dues report which updated us that the 2008 dues collection was a total success!  Back dues were also collected and three liens released this year.

Overall we are on target with our 2008 budget.  There is a breakdown in the secretary notebook if anyone would like to read the report.

Landscape Report discussion included the topic of neighborhood-wide mailbox staining in the spring after bids are obtained.  Homeowners will have the option to stain their own mailboxes if they prefer.  Holiday lights were discussed, and the issue of fall clean up of landscape was discussed.

There was no new business.

The meeting was adjourned.
